Hello! My name is Cecilia Cashel, although most call me Cela. Thanks for visiting my page! I would love to tell you a little bit about myself. I graduated summa cum laude from Missouri State University in December 2022 with a degree in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing and am currently working as an Account Executive at Moosylvania. While in college, I worked as a Resident Assistant at Missouri State and as a Marketing Intern at Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services. Throughout college, I interned at 417 Magazine and Missouri State's Office of Strategic Communication while being involved on campus with Dance Marathon, a student-led fundraising effort for local hospitalized children. While spending my summers at home, I have had the opportunity to intern at Nestlé Purina PetCare Company and ILLINOISouth Tourism. In my free time, I enjoy reading, crafting, and experimenting with photography and videography. I also love baking and spending time with friends and family. I am a passionate, determined, and compassionate person who strives to help others and create a better world.

Public Relations Philosophy
I have always loved people. A natural extrovert, I thrive in a group environment and greatly enjoy meeting new people. I find learning about human behavior fascinating and appreciate creating connections with those different from myself. After a long journey of self-discovery, I have found that my love for people combined with my interest in critical thinking and analysis aligns perfectly with the public relations field.
When entering college, I found myself unsure of what I wanted to do with my life. I spent the majority of my freshman year with an undeclared major and took some time to explore different options and self-reflect. After partaking in various college courses, I found myself not only enjoying classes within the communications department, but also excelling in them. This experience gave me the realization that I belonged in the communications world, and after taking a public relations course, I knew I had found what I was meant to do. I loved the activities of creating relationships, analyzing target audiences, figuring out how to grab peoples’ attention, writing, developing social media and campaign strategies, and all of the other aspects of public relations. I have since graduated with a public relations degree and a minor in marketing. I love that the field involves both creativity in producing content and working with others as well as strategy in creating campaigns and analyzing marketing data. I have greatly enjoyed my time in public relations so far and look forward to expanding my experience in the field through my career.
