During my time at 417 Magazine, I had the incredible opportunity to explore several areas of the public relations field that I had not gained experience in beforehand, one of which was planning events. While I had planned several events for those living on my floor during my time as a Resident Assistant, I had never planned professional, large-scale events before serving as the Audience Development Intern at 417. The first event that I assisted in planning was Biz 417's "Best Places to Work" event in September of 2021. This was a new event that highlighted the top 20 places to work in Springfield and brought together the teams of dozens of companies in the community. My role in planning the event was multidimensional, as I was called to help wherever I was needed. I composed informative eblasts that would go out to the attendees prior to the event and arranged centerpieces and other decor. I ensured the event went smoothly on the day of by observing any minor details that needed adjustments throughout the event. I also directed our keynote speaker, Kansas City Chiefs mascot Dan Meers, on where he needed to be during the event. Outside of the "Best Places to Work" event, I have worked on creating project plans for upcoming events to coordinate all of the details and preparations that need to be made.

I also spearheaded all of the sweepstakes that 417 hosted, including our Winter Fun Bundle, Great Dates Giveaway, Medical Spa Month, and Spa Days. This involved communicating with our clients, which included various local businesses in Springfield, and creating a mutually beneficial relationship with them through promoting their products and services to our audience. I also created various web pages for the sweepstakes and collected data from our entrants and analyzed their demographics. To promote our sweepstakes, I developed promotional plans and created and distributed various eblasts and social media posts.

In addition to events and contests, I also worked with 417's social media. I created social media schedules for our content and assisted in hosting Instagram Lives. I also wrote press releases for 417 and various captions for social media. I am very thankful for my time with 417 Magazine and the variety of experience they have given me!
