I began the Marketing & Communications Internship at ILLINOISouth Tourism in May of 2021. ILLINOISouth Tourism is a Convention and Visitors Bureau that represents 21 counties across southern Illinois. ILLINOISouth serves the communities they cover by assisting in creating and producing advertising efforts such as social media, brochures, billboards, web and video content, and more. In my position, I do a lot of writing as well as content creation. I have written six blogs for our ILLINOISouth website and written several sponsorship forms for different communities in our territory. I have also entered content into our website and assisted in creating organizational systems for our photo and video content. Additionally, I have travelled to several notable areas in the area ILLINOISouth represents to capture photographs and videos. I have also learned about video creation and have assisted in editing and publishing content for our social media accounts.

This internship has given me vast knowledge in marketing, public relations, and communications. I have gained so much hands-on experience and learned about working in a professional environment. I am so thankful for the time I have had at ILLINOISouth and look forward to gaining more experience in the field.
